Job Description:
Job Summary:
This drilling engineering position is located in Anadarko's Gulf of Mexico / International Deepwater Drilling department in The Woodlands, Texas, with specific responsibilities related to Gulf of Mexico activities. This is a high profile position functioning as an integral part of a world class drilling and completion organization. The successful candidate will have both the technical and communication skills to interface with both field and office based staff.
We are currently seeking three qualified candidates with the following years of experience:
(2) Three to seven years of applicable drilling experience.
(1) Seven to twelve years of applicable drilling experience.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this position should possess at least seven years of applicable experience in the oil & gas industry; specifically in Gulf of Mexico or Deepwater operations.
Strong technical and interpersonal skills with the proven ability to coordinate multiple initiatives and participate in diverse teams in support of large-scale drilling operations.
Strong operations management, engineering leadership and project coordination abilities.
Conducts themselves and the operation with stringent safety, environmental and regulatory practices and compliance.
Working with colleagues in exploration and development teams to develop and optimize well plans.
Well Control / BOPE training
Knowledge and understanding of all applicable federal regulations (30 CFR 250) governing drilling, completion, and workover operations in the OCS regions.
Be an effective communicator, both written and verbal, with office based teams, field personnel and contractor support team.
Drilling background including field developments and exploration drilling as an office engineer, field engineer, and/or drilling supervisor.

Responsibilities:
Interface with subsurface and completion teams to ensure well design meets the well objectives ("Fit for Purpose") and is engineered in accordance with all applicable regulations and standards.
Collaborate with subsurface, completions, subsea/facilities and production teams to manage critical interfaces.
Responsible for writing detailed drilling programs for safe and efficient operations while maintaining expenditures within planned budget and schedule.
Conduct and participate in peer reviews, risk assessments and hazard analyses as required to support well planning.
Manage and coordinate service providers/contractors to ensure effective and timely delivery of required equipment and services.
Performance tracking (actual vs planned, EHS) and making recommendations for improvement.
Identification and implementation of applicable new technology to enhance safety, effectiveness and /or efficiency.
Develop scoping well designs and cost estimates during early stages of project consideration.
Prepare final well design, AFEs and drilling programs (casing and drill string designs, mud and cement programs; bit programs; coordination and incorporation of wellbore evaluation programs; well control procedures; contingency plans; etc.) for exploration, delineation and development wells.
Monitor real time data as well as generate post well analysis and costs studies; verify and approve invoices.
Be an effective communicator, both written and verbal, with office based teams, field personnel and contractor support team.

Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
Grade and salary will be commensurate with relevant education and experience.

Certifications/Licenses:
Well Control Certificate
EIT or PE not required, but preferred

Relocation:
This position is eligible for relocation

Travel Requirements:
The percentage of travel required for this position is 10 - 20%

Work Schedule:
This position is eligible for the 9/80 work schedule
