 Ocean Rig owns and operates the two semi-submersible rigs Leiv Eiriksson and Eirik Raude and the four drillships Ocean Rig Corcovado, Ocean Rig Olympia, Ocean Rig Poseidon and Ocean Rig Mykonos.
The Roughneck will ideally have at least 6 months experience as Roughneck/Floorman, ideally on a floating drilling rig.
This position would be on the Leiv Eiriksson which is currently located off the Falkland Islands and will be working in the Norwegian sector on a 2/4 rotation by the end of the year and as per client requirements Norwegian nationals are preferred.
Responsibilities include:
Work as directed by the drill crew. Maintain working areas, tools, and safety equipment in a clean, tidy and orderly manner.
Be safety conscious in all work and behaviours and use compulsory personal protective equipment relevant for the work situation.
Report any safety hazard and near miss to an immediate superior.
Participate in safety meetings and safety drills.
Carry out duties according to the Emergency and Contingency Manual when needed.
Be familiar with all relevant work- and safety procedures issued by Ocean Rig AS and by the Operator, and promote the implementation of same.
Ensure that all orders and instructions received verbally or in writing are fully understood and adhered to.
Required Experience:
The Roughneck will ideally have prior experience on a Semi-Submersible or Drillship.
As a global organisation and to ensure a safe working environment, it is essential that all applicants have a strong level of English, both written and oral.
Required Qualifications and Certificates:
Valid health certificate by the relevant authority.
Valid Offshore Survival course, OPITO or equivalent.
