Responsibilities include: design and extension of new products including hydraulic and pneumatic gate valve actuator assemblies; improving designs on current products for longer life and reliability; testing products at field locations; researching customer requirements to confirm product application; researching alternative countries/suppliers which would decrease manufacturing costs for existing product lines; participating in engineering society task groups and sales/engineering presentations; supervising, training, developing, motivating and guiding drafters and technicians to achieve project objectives; utilizing Inventor 3D and Mathcad design software, designing and testing of hydraulic, pneumatic valve actuation systems; material section per NACE MR0175 and designing and testing requirement of API 6A and designing and casting and forging raw materials utilizing geometric tolerance and datum targeting.
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with 2+ years related experience. Competent with mechanical design and stress analysis. Knowledge of manufacturing processes and metallurgy. Competent with AutoCAD, Inventor and MathCAD design software. Interpersonal skills and initiative are essential requirements. Familiarity with API, ISO and relevant industry standards is desired. Specific product knowledge not a must, other product knowledge can be transferable.
