Job Description:

SENIOR STAFF GEOLOGIST (16820)

Location: Houston, TX

Education: Minimum of a MSc in Geology

Experience: Ten (10) or more years of industry related experience.  The following experience is desirable:

•Experience at a major or large independent oil company
•Prospect generation
•Prospect assessment using probabilistic risk and resource analysis
•Proficient using Landmark software
•Experience working salt basins and an understanding of salt tectonics
•Previous experience working in the Deepwater Gulf of Mexico will be an advantage

Description: The ideal candidate will demonstrate a record of prospect generation and geologic support in deep water exploration with previous exposure working the Deepwater Gulf of Mexico an advantage.  They will have experience in seismic interpretation, and sequence stratigraphy.  The geologist should be able to demonstrate the ability to integrate seismic interpretations with depositional systems for regional to prospect level geologic support.  In addition, the Geologist will also have a comprehensive understanding of prospect risking and reserves determination.  

Job duties to include:

•Prospect identification and generation through seismic interpretation for lease sale and farm-in opportunities.  Prospect maturation through detailed prospect mapping, risking and resource determination and assisting with APD and EP submissions.
•Supporting the prospect generation in Green Canyon and Mississippi Canyon area by integrating seismic interpretation, salt tectonics and well logs information and generating isopach and reservoir fairway maps, and cross sections.
•Presentation Generation - Generate and present technical presentations to peers and management.

Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis.
