Job Description:

Our client a large global operator would like to recruit a Commissioning Lead, based in their Calgary office.

The successful applicant will be reporting to the Commissioning Manager

Dimensions:

During Basic Engineering:
• Prepare the Commissioning plan to be applied on clients Project in line with CLIENT guidance and specifications,
• Issue the CLIENT Commissioning philosophy, Management & Interfaces procedures, Transfer philosophy and all relevant Technical documents,
• Check and approves the Pre-commissioning and Commissioning deliverables issued by the Basic engineering Contractors,
• Prepare the commissioning SOW and provide Commissioning requirement input in all Exhibits of the contract for each silo,
• Insure consistency of all Commissioning deliverables incorporated in the CONTRACT TENDER SPECIFICATION's,
• Ensure the co-ordination with other Extraction Plant entities and Mine Pre-operation entity.
• Implements and give training on use of ICAPS.
• Implements the interfaces and links between ICAPS and EPCC commissioning software as applicable.

During Silo Detail Engineering:
• Ensure that the preparation of Pre-commissioning and Commissioning by the EPSCC contractor is completed on schedule and as per the CLIENT standards.
• Responsible to identify/recruit/manage a team of multidiscipline engineers at each location.
• Act as a point of contact for CLIENT and CONTRACTOR for all maters related to Pre-commissioning and Commissioning.
• Liaise permanently with CLIENT main office regarding the specific mining Commissioning requirements .
• Liaise with other silo commissioning leads for interface matters.

During Silo Construction phase at SITE:
• Define the Start-up sequence and commissioning execution schedule in coordination with Mine and Extraction Operations.
• Control the preparation and the progress of all Pre-commissioning and Commissioning test plans and general procedures for all activities required.
• Manage the achievement and preparation of commissioning procedures in compliance with OPERCOM and reporting tools (ICAPS data-base, planning, progress and cost).
• Supervise the preparation and scheduling of all Pre-commissioning and Commissioning activities in order to ensure that RFC and RFSU of each Sub-system is timely reached as per the SU sequence and without last-minute requirements.
• Anticipate contingency plan as required.
• Ensures regular equipment inspection, FAT participation and follow up by CLIENT Commissioning discipline engineers.
• Implement and maintain a management of change procedure through the life of the project.
• Mobilize timely and manage the adequate organization, resources and means, which will cover the supervision of critical Pre-commissioning activities and all Commissioning activities done by CONTRACTOR.
• Prepare the integration of the personnel specialized for commissioning, the vendor's assistance and personnel coming from Operations Department.
• Ensures good coordination and communication with other Project parties, within their team and promotes team working attitude.
