Job Description:
|
The Riser Analyst provides engineering and technical support for the Company's fleet operations, new build programs, modification projects and upgrade projects. This support is to include developing analytical solutions for structural analysis, riser analysis, component and system analysis, and providing other advanced analytical solutions.
Professional Experience:
• Must have a minimum of 5 years' experience in the offshore drilling industry, preferably with an offshore drilling contractor
• Experience in Riser Analysis is preferred
• FMEA Experience is preferred
• Experience in vessel motions is preferred
• Experience in Mooring, DP, and Stability Analysis is preferred
• DP Trials Experience is preferred
• Experience with ASME, API, AISC, ABS, DNV, and MODU Codes is required
Education, Training, Licenses and/or Certifications
• Bachelor Degree in Engineering or equivalent from an accredited college or university is required.
• Advanced degree is preferred
• PE License is preferred
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
• Conducting structural analysis, riser analysis, and drilling equipment component and systems analysis
• Design, Analysis, and material review for various structures
• Finite element modeling for quasi-static behavior of subsea equipment
• Analysis of riser, tiebacks under severe static and dynamic loading
• Fatigue and Fracture analysis of subsea equipment
• Assessed material failure and fracture under impact loading
Engineering:
• Perform design and analysis of drilling rig structures, mooring systems, subsea system, and riser systems
• Attend field rig surveys and audits as required including weight and stability audits and DP FMEA audits
• Maintain quality assurance of the Safety Critical Documentation, drawings and plans
• Assist in the quality assurance of the classification and regulatory documentation
• Participates in the development of design standards and technical specifications for drilling rig systems applying industry standards, classification requirements and regulatory requirements
• Produces engineered designs for new rig and rig upgrade projects
• Provides technical review of proposed rig systems based on drawings and inspections
• Evaluates and recommends design changes, specifications, and drawing releases
Minimum Requirements for this position
• Working knowledge of applicable engineering applications software
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office software suites
• Thorough understanding of vessel loading and afloat stability
• Ability to gather and analyze/synthesize data, confirming its accuracy and adequacy as an integral part of the collective analysis/synthesis process
• Demonstrated effective leadership and influencing skills and practices
• Physically capable of being transported to an offshore rig by boat or helicopter
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel at an advanced level (use financial and logical functions; work with multiple worksheets and workbooks; edit and use macros; import and export information)
• Working knowledge of document control systems and databases
