 The Senior Mechanical Engineer will interact with the current project team by providing expertise in hydraulic and pneumatics system design. He or she will add value through critical decision making and provide insight into design, functionality, and process definition. He or she must demonstrate excellent process and project management skills in order to function effectively with the client, their peers and the management team.
Essential duties and responsibilities

· Design and/or implement hydraulic systems for subsea applications
· Design subsystems, assemblies and their components to meet customer and internal requirements within budget and schedule constraints
· Create bills of materials and oversee creation of drawings to support new designs
· Revise drawings and bills of materials for existing designs
· Prepare stress analysis, hydraulic diagrams, test criteria, and critical assembly instructions
· Analyze design reliability, serviceability and manufacturability
· Provide support to other departments such as Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Customer Service, Project Engineering, and Project Management
· Supervise drafters/designers and other engineers on design tasks. Function as lead on tasks of high complexity
· Cooperate with other mechanical and electrical personnel on detailed design work
· Recommend changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect immediate organization(s)
· Perform engineering duties at customer sites, or offshore when required

Desired Skills:
Minimum Job Requirements
· BSME degree or equivalent experience
· Five (5) years industrial hydraulic systems experience
· Experience with product development
· Experience technically with leading teams on engineering development projects
· A firm understanding of mechanisms
· Proficient in 2D and 3D modeling software
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
· Experience in design of BOP Stack mounted controls equipment
· Experience in design of actuators, manifolds, and other hydraulic components
· Proficient at AutoCAD and familiar with Pro-E
· System level design experience
· Experience in mobile machinery design
