Job Description:
The Company:
Our client, an international major oil and gas operator, seeks a Civil/Structural Engineer to join their team.

The Role:

• Reviews detailed layout and design of projects for technical accuracy, compliance, completeness and feasibilty to governing codes and CVX requirements.
• Establishes technical guidelines, devises new approaches, applies existing criteria in new manners.

Work Location & Travel

• This position will be based in Angola through engineering to completion of Installation/HUC in late 2015. The stay will be in Angola with a Back-to-Back Rotation of 28/28 (28 days in Angola/28 days home).

• Detailed engineering will be ~12 months;initially in Houston, then to Luanda, Angola • After engineering completion, the position will move to afab yard in Angola and then to offshore Angola.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

BS preferred or equivalent experience BSc (UK)
10+ years experience in oil and gas industry. Must have expertise in all aspects of structural design for onshore/offshore production platforms from conceptual design, through detailed design, fabrication, loadout, transportation, installation, HUC and start up. Past experience with large modular platform structures is desired. Familiarity with Chevron processes for executing Capital Projects and Production Operations is a plus. Understanding of interface management, work orders, risk management, change control, and improvement processes. Willing to travel internationally. Must be prepared to spend extended durations at the various contract sites. Experience in construction site regarding operations, manpower and equipment resources management. Must speak English fluently. Knowledge on modeling, analysis and results on Finite Element analysis Software (ABAQUS, ANSYS), and offshore platform design programs (SACS).
