We have an immediate opening in the Houston office (Energy Corridor at Park Ten) for a SENIOR DESIGN ENGINEER, Degreed with10+ years drilling/subsea equipment design/production experience. This important position joins a small, specialized engineering and R&D team to support design activities across the company's Americas' Region (current operations include Canada, Brazil and GOM). Travel may be required within the region, and to Straume, Norway's design office (possibly for periods of up to 2/3 weeks at a time).
Candidate will show competency with drill strings, subsea well-heads, pumps including disk pumps, risers and umbilicals, pipelines, and well-bore characteristics, be a proficient multi-tasker, and show knowledge of detailed design for review of and modification to equipment. Additionally will contribute to the technical preparation for client sales presentations, and sales meetings, and prepare technical reports and consolidate data. This role also requires support to our offshore operations, and may involve field and test site visits, including offshore rigs. Candidate's adherence to best HSEQ practices is essential, preferably with exposure to BSEE requirements.
Knowledge of US and international codes and standards is required (API, AME, T.H. Hill and preferably NORSOK), and practical understanding of the drilling process, equipment and applications is necessary. CAD and Inventor/Vault package use and ideally Solid Works experience is a plus. This position offers a great opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge, taking design into the field and being part of the project team to see the results of the process!
