Job Description:

Job Duties and Responsibilities
The Design Engineer performs conceptual and detail design work and engineering analysis, working knowledge of Finite Element Analysis.  Provides technical support on OIE developed products.  Compiles and analyzes test data to determine effect of design on various factors such as temperature, pressures, speed, horsepower, and fuel consumption.  Travel for some projects may be required. Travel can include domestic and foreign to meet with customers, vendors, work sites, etc. Travel may include witnessing and participating in activities at test facilities, shipyards, manufacturing facilities, and visits to offshore drilling rigs or support vessels.  On some occasions, performs product testing / integration offshore or at locations where system integration tests are being performed.   Writes or reviews technical proposals and specifications.  Interfaces with customers and project managers inside and outside Oceaneering to convey concepts and resolve questions.  Maintains documentation of projects and provide engineering status and progress reports.

Qualifications
BS in Engineering plus five (5) years minimum related design engineering experience is required.  Experience with subsea equipment design is required.  Experience with hydraulic system design is required.  Experience with electric circuit design is a plus.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, AutoCad, and Solidworks.  Knowledge and use of MathCAD is a plus.  Peoplesoft and Enovia PLM software knowledge preferred.

Knowledge and experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is a must.  A working knowledge of Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) is a plus: on-job learning GD&T is a must.  Understanding manufacturing and machining methods is a plus: learning manufacturing and machining practices is a must.
