Job Description:
The Mafumeira Sul Project (MSP) is a multi-billion dollar project currently in late CPDEP phase 3 with FID anticipated in 1Q2012. MSP scope includes the greenfield installation of a central processing complex (CPC) (primary processing platform (PPP, ~27,000 te), living quarters platform (LQP, ~9,400 te) and flare tower; all bridge connected) plus two new wellhead platforms. These facilities will be located in Area A of Angola Block 0 in approximately 160 ft water depth. Roughly 75km of infield and export pipelines will be required as will brownfield modifications of the Mafumeira Norte WHP and tie-ins at the Sanha, Malembo Gas Supply 2 and Malongo Terminal facilities. All CPC topsides decks will be fabricated in Korea; all jacket and all piles will be built in Angola. Detailed design is expected to begin in 1Q2012. Site fabrication is planned to kick off in 2Q2013 with fabrication complete in 3Q2014. Installation will follow in 4Q2014 with start-up of facilities planned for 2015. The Interface Engineer will coordinate of all interface work processes in support of the project from Phase 4 Detailed Engineering through field execution and commissioning activities. This position will interface with cross functional disciplines on and off the project, including partners, EPCI contractors, and vendors to identify and resolve interface opportunities, and will assist in the implementation of the project interface management plan, risk management plan, management of change and lessons learned documentation.
Functional Knowledge:
-Specific knowledge of interface management on large capital projects and application of MOC (Management of change).
-Broad knowledge of upstream oil & gas field developments, with experience in design, fabrication, installation and operations and related work processes.
-Experienced in offshore projects as pertains to heavy lifts, heavy hauls, cost estimating and scheduling. Project and People Management:
-Communicates in a clear, concise, understandable manner; maintains frequent, proactive, and effective contact with stakeholders.
-Coordinates interface information exchange with a variety of groups, providing independent and thorough follow through. -Strong planning and organization skills.
-Self-motivated
-Experienced in managing multidiscipline teams on large major capital projects including personnel from Operations, Base Business Management, Engineering, Finance, Project Management and Contractors.
Education:Engineering Degree (BE or equivalent)
Experience:
-5+ years experience in planning and executing offshore construction and maintenance projects.
-Experience with interface management and risk management programs.
-Experience in EPCI contracts, including managing contractor performance against schedule, cost control, and management of change.
-Operations and/or construction experience advantageous (Platforms and Pipelines)
-Major international construction management experience preferred, particularly in West Africa or areas with similar logistics issues.
Additional Comments:
This position will be based in Houston, located in Houston either at the Chevron offices or the detailed design engineering contractor's offices. After the project moves to the fabrication site and on into installation in the field, frequent business trips will be required to Angola and/or Korea. Phase 4 may also require 28/28 rotational assignment to Angola for the installation phase. Selection of the EPCI contractor is still oustanding; hence, the final fabrication sites have not been determined. A degree in Engineering is preferred
