 Responsibilities :
This position is a refining consultancy role that focuses on providing technical advice to 3rd party refining companies in the area of hydroprocessing applications, specifically hydroprocessing catalyst technology. It requires strong process engineering skills and good general knowledge of all refining processes. - No direct reports
- Responsible for helping Criterion account team achieve approximately $60MM annual sales revenue from about 4 key customer accounts
- Responsible for building strong relationships with customer personnel and helping the Criterion account team achieve very high customer satisfaction level
- Customer relationship management entails working with all levels and facets of client refining organizations, unit engineers, technical managers, operations manager, refinery managers, planning managers, procurement managers, Refining VPs, etc
- 25 - 30% travel (in U.S.) required with occasionally higher levels to cover units startups, troubleshooting,etc
- Must be capable of handling challenges from very senior,knowledgeable refining personnel
 Desired Skills: Requirements :
- BSc Chem Engineering or comparable science/engineering degree
- At least 5 years experience in refinery technical, operations and/or planning positions, refinery technology delivery (e.g., Shell Global Solutions Downstream consulting or licensing) or refining catalyst company
- Preferably experience in 2 -3 refinery areas and at least one of the following hydroprocessing applications, Distillate Hydrotreating, FCC Feed Pretreating, Hydrocracking or Resid Hydroprocessing
Key position duties are: - Prepare catalyst performance estimates and technical proposals according to customers' requirements and present analysis and recommendations to customers' personnel
- Assist customers with catalyst loading and activation to ensure catalysts perform as expected
- Analyze performance of customer's hydroprocessing units, prepare reports for customer and review results/conclusions with customer's staff
- Help customers troubleshoot unit performance problems and lead incident investigations (RCAs) when units using Criterion's catalyst are underperforming
- Provide value optimization studies as requested by customer
- Identify opportunities for customer to produce additional value with Criterion's catalysts and help customer implement new approaches
- Demonstrate to customer the value that Criterion's products and technical know-how bring to the customer's operations
- Document successes that customers achieve with Criterion catalysts and technical support to share with Criterion organization and with customer's permission to share with other refining companies
- Assist marketing with the preparation of technical articles for publication in refining industry periodicals and presentation at refining industry conferences
- Provide guidance to sales, marketing and R&D about customers' business challenges and needs for new catalysts and analytical tools
- Assist Criterion account team with developing and implementing customer account strategies and action plans to deliver the expected catalyst sales and financial results
- Gather knowledge about competitor's products, services and strategies and share with Criterion organization
- Work with Criterion's R&D staff to organize and execute catalyst pilot plant testing for customers
- Participate as instructor in Criterion delivered technical courses in area of expertise, and develops new course material
- Assist with training/onboarding of new and less experienced Criterion technical and sale staff
- Regional, technical subject matter expert for a selected hydrotreating application
