Job Description:

This position is a key member of the Project Leadership Team. The position will report directly to Malange Project Manager with a functional reporting relationship to the MCP HES Coordinator in Houston. The HES Lead is responsible for the the delivery of Project HES requirements. Specific requirements for the role include:

- Complete late Phase 2 HES requirements to ensure successful seamless transition to Phase 3;
- Development and deployment of Phase 2/3 project HES Plans including IIR, Safe Work, CHESM, and Risk Management;
- Identification and management of HES budget and resources; Manage GO -113 contracts to ensure HES scope and deliverables are met;
- Implementation of the Incident and Injury Free (IIF) project vision;
- Implementation of ESHIA process and obtain government issued Environmental Licenses;
- Interface with key stakeholders to ensure successful transition of the project in-country;
- Exhibit leadership of Chevron Way Behaviors, implement CSOC principles, and support implementation of CPDEP processes;
- Support and help build culture of value creation through risk management and mitigation planning. Position will remain Houston based throughout the project but will require frequent travel to multiple international manufacturing, fabrication, and/or construction sites. Much of the HES team will be located in the manufacturing, fabrication, and/or construction sites during Phase 4 so demonstrated experience in managing a team which is dispersed geographically is desirable.

Education:B.S. Degree preferred

Experience:
A strong background in safety and experience in some or all of the following key areas would be advantageous: Facility Enginering, Offshore Construction (existing platform modification work, HUC, pipeline and subsea facilities installation), International Fab-yard construction.

Preferred Skills:

OE Leadership/Safety Culture: Proven performance in building and sustaining a strong safety culture and helping to deliver Major Capital Projects in a safe and environmentally responsible manner. Able to champion the development and maintenance of a strong HES culture. Strong focus on HES with proven track record of proactive safety and environmental leadership. Skilled in the application of the IIF protocol as an integral part of OE delivery on an MCP. OE/HES Management System: Demonstrated experience with formal processes to assess OE/HES risks and implement solutions. Ability to ensure OE performance accountabilities are clearly and effectively assigned throughout the project. Able to provide on-going coaching. Prior experience developing and implementing OE/HES elements of an assurance plan to provide project and business unit management assurance that HES systems and processes are in place and effective. Risk Management: Able to lead HES risk management process for projects and effectively solicit expert consultation on hazard analysis of new and existing designs and facility layouts. Proven experience developing and implementing an OE/HES Plan that ensures major risks are identified and mitigated within the constraints of project schedule. Ensures implementation of Corporate and standard processes as appropriate but especially Environmental Stewardship, ESHIA, Risk Management, and CHESM. Project Management: Proven ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups & stakeholders. Effectively works with teams driving HES performance. Experience in setting HES goals/objectives, and utilizing metrics to measure performance. Good organizational and analytical skills. Holds self & others accountable for performance. Nurtures professional growth of HES specialists as well as being a strong mentor. Strong communicator in Managing Safe Work Practices.

Certification:CIH/CSP certification preferred.
