Job Description:

Responsibilities :

The Electrical Technician in the Tracy area will work closely with the Mechanical Technicians, Meter Technician, Right of Way Technicians, and Pipeline Technicians to help organize job tasks associated with the work the group will be performing.

The tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Regulatory inspections.
  • Reactive work load and preventative workloads to keep the electrical equipment and the asset, operational on a high percentage of time.
  • Maintenance of programmable logic controllers and flow computers.
  • Maintenance of communication systems, motor control systems, and electric motors.
  • Ability to process instrumentation.
  • Electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Protective and Control Devices.

Following the Inspection & Maintenance manual and input into the annual updates of the I&M manual. Leadership of contractors on an as needed basis.

  • Utilization of the PTW (permit to work) process in all aspects of the job.
  • This will be accomplished through utilization of SAP, R&I, as well as the Shell Inspection & Maintenance manuals.
  • This position will require good communication skills to all levels of the organization.

Requirements :

  • Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum eight (8) years experience in the Industrial Electrical field.
  • Crude Oil and Products Pipeline knowledge required.
  • Must have prior maintenance experience with motor control systems, electric motors, high voltage, switch gear, and PLC.
  • Must have an understanding of electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Ability to qualify for a TWIC card or a current valid TWIC card required.
  • Strong safety attitude.
  • Work in a team environment.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts.
  • Self-starter and work with minimal supervision.
  • Good verbal and written communications skills.
  • Microsoft Office, SAP knowledge a plus.
