The description for this position is as follows:

  • Promote safety within area of specialty.
  • Coordinate the daily activities of inspectors and perform quality inspection activities in accordance with the Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Provide a high level of quality expertise and experience in more than one inspection discipline such as NDE, coatings or welding (Senior Level Inspector).
  • Monitor production processes and perform surveillance activities.
  • Review and evaluate Contractor's and Suppliers' quality documents for accuracy and adequacy.
  • Develop and implement detailed oversight program for high criticality areas such as Golden Weld, NDE Crosscheck and Critical Site Repairs.
  • Participate in Mechanical Completion activities such as pre-walkdown checks, accuracy of Quality Control documents, formal walkdowns, and support closure of punch list items.
  • Support Quality training activities.
  • Keep Site Quality supervision updated with status of quality issues.
  • Provide leadership / expertise in quality inspection activities and provide input on the technical and physical adequacy of associated equipment and systems.
  • Coordinate daily activities of discipline inspector's surveillance of contractor work activities and the documentation of deficiencies in accordance with the Site Construction Surveillance Plan.
  • Interface with Site Quality and Engineering disciplines to provide inspection and testing expertise in the development and review of drawings and procedures.
  • Generate, review, and revise operational procedures for inspection and test equipment.
  • Review and validate Contractor procedures for inspection and for testing / examining components through the performance of surveillance in accordance with the Construction Surveillance Plan.
  • Support project with inspection activity, and/or examination technique recommendations; and offer technical advice for compliance with specified requirements.
  • Perform inspections and verifications of critical activities in accordance with requirements of the ITP.
  • Provide early warning of potential quality problems and the expertise to avoid / resolve them.
