Job Description PURPOSE:
Summarize briefly the major function and purpose of the position.
Provides human resources support for the Wellhead Equipment Division including employment, employee relations, compensation and staffing.
ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS:
What are the minimum qualifications an employee must have in order to perform the duties of the position? (I.e. educational requirements, licenses, certification, work experience, training etc.)
Bachelor's degree in a related field. Masters preferred.
Five to seven years of Human Resources experience. College recruiting experience preferred. Experience in a Manufacturing or Technical Industry preferred
Ability to travel required.
PC Skills including proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet and database.
HRIS (Human Resources Information System) or other related mainframe systems experience a plus.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of FMC personnel, as well as external suppliers and organizations.
Ability to execute
tasks independently. Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive data.
Excellent organization and time management skills to handle multiple tasks in an environment with large volumes of data and paperwork. Attention to detail.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
What training will an employee need to perform the duties of the position?
Houston Operating Procedures, START Safety Program, Personnel Policies and Procedures. Benefits Package, Forms and Procedures. Advanced software training in data processing, spreadsheets and word processing, HRIS Systems Training, E-Mail and voice mail training. Human Resources Generalist training courses.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITY:

Explain the degree of supervision/guidance, procedures/ processes used, judgement, creativity, planning & resourcefulness needed to do the job. Coaches supervisors on appropriate management actions, requires knowledge of employment law, standard policy & procedures and problem solving skills.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:
Identify the major duties and tasks accomplished by this position. For each duty, identify if it is an E - essential function or N - nonessential function of the job.
E/N Duties and Responsibilities
E Answers questions and assists with problem resolution for employees and managers. Evaluates human relations and work-related problems and develops solutions within the confines of policy and directives. Provides Employee Assistance Plan (EAP) referrals when necessary.
E Coaches, counsels and trains managers regarding the
new hire process, HRIS usage, employee performance, discipline and termination matters. Assists managers in composing documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
E Assists in administering the compensation program, which includes developing job descriptions, performing job analysis, analyzing salary surveys to monitor internal equity and market competitiveness and facilitates the performance evaluation program. Assists managers with the Salary Planning process.
E Develops relationships with campus placement offices and college department heads and attends on-campus functions such as Job Fairs and Career Days to attract the best professional/technical candidates. Develops network to identify other sources of qualified candidates.
E Plans and independently executes special projects as assigned by Human Resources Manager.
N Keeps abreast of latest trends and technology related to human resource functions. Identifies and suggests ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the department.
