WTS Energy is seeking to recruit Marine Safety Officer / Supervisor   for their Oil & Gas Client in Yemen

Purpose

Provides HS&E support and advice to offshore personnel. Carries out risk assessment, safety training, Hazop / Hazid procedures prior to starting any project work. Conducts routine safety inspections at location and carries out accident and 'near miss' investigations. Provides safety training, reviews the status and maintenance of safety equipment and other related safety-oriented work. Maintains Work permit system. Acts as S&QMS Coordinator on board the FSO , update and submit to FSO Master monthly S&QMS reports. Supervises Helicopter landing / take off.

Job Description

Provides HS&E support and advice to offshore personnel.
Carries out risk assessment, safety training, Hazop / Hazid procedures prior to starting any project work.
Conducts routine safety inspections at location and carries out accident and 'near miss' investigations.
Provides safety training, reviews the status and maintenance of safety equipment and other related safety-oriented work. Maintains Work permit system.
Acts as S&QMS Coordinator on board the FSO , update and submit to FSO Master monthly S&QMS reports. Supervises Helicopter landing / take off.
Supervises on location, the landing and take off of helicopter and checks personnel embarking / disembarking as per the helicopter manifest.
Acts as Master's representative for quality assurance (ISO/ ISM programs) of S&QMS activities on the FSO.
Acts as stand-by on location during hot work jobs and ensures offshore personnel fulfill all offshore safety requirements.
Monitors gas and O2 in confined spaces access. Signs confined space entry permits.
Prepares safety topics minutes and is chairman of monthly safety meetings.
Provides first aid emergency assistance and completes accident reports.
Acts as Security Coordinator.
Ensures environmental compliance.

Requirements

Diploma or engineering degree
OSHA, ISGOTT safety, helicopter safety, fire fighting
Minimum 5-10 years of progressively more responsible safety related experience in the Oil and Gas Industry, with at least three years experience working independently at the senior safety advisory level.
Preferably FPSO, FSO, oil tanker or Marine Terminal experience.
Experience of and certifications for Permits to Work and Risk Assessment.
Experience and knowledge of helicopter operations.
Good command of spoken and written English.
Computer skill commensurate with ability to produce written reports; working knowledge of Microsoft office programs.
Good knowledge of Quality Management systems and requirements to maintain status ISO 9001:2008
Must possess a strong work ethic with a "can do'' attitude.
