Client of e-technology is currently recruiting for a Safety & Loss Prevention Engineer .
The Safety and Loss Prevention (SLP) Engineer conducts engineering activities for the design of offshore oil and gas projects. This includes use of general and specialized training, knowledge and experience to identify technical means of carrying out assigned tasks.
The assignments for the SLP Engineer will typically be given by the Lead SLP Engineer. The SLP Engineer is accountable to the Lead SLP Engineer on the Project and to the Process Systems Manager for his/her overall performance.
Technical advice and direction is received from the SLP Lead, Process Systems Manager as well as other experienced company personnel. The Engineer is responsible for selection of methods and procedures, performance of the work, and optimization of the design within the scope of the project specifications.
The Safety and Loss Prevention Engineer will generate all P&IDs and layout drawings related to loss prevention, safety equipment, and escape routes including coordinating with designers and drafters to ensure that the design is properly translated to the drawings and specifications. Prepare all calculations and reports required to support the loss prevention design.
Lead and execute risk assessments, hazard identification/evaluation studies, hazard operability studies, consequence analysis, layers of protection analysis, and departmental reviews.
Writing specification/datasheets for specialized Safety & Loss Prevention equipment or components for projects.
Assisting in the package management of specialized Safety & Loss Prevention equipment or components for projects.
Knowledge of fire protection system design is required.
Knowledge of the UK sector safety case (North Sea)preferred.
Software experience with Pipenet and KYPipe preferred.
4 plus years of experience of related Safety Systems and Loss Prevention (Fire Protection) design experience required.
Bachelors degree in Safety Engineering or related field required with preference given to candidates having coursework in safety and fire protection.
Project types include SPM systems, FPSOs, FSOs, MOPUs, TLPs, as well as drilling and production Semi-submersibles.
Position is full time Direct in West Houston.
