Our Client: Has specialized in turbo machinery controls for over 35 years. They serve customers in a broad range of industries including oil, gas, chemical, petrochemical, refineries, LNG, pipelines, steel mills, pharmaceutical, machine-building, and power generation facilities. They also construct new turbo machinery controls and retrofit existing equipment.
Summary: Complete responsibility for the successful execution of projects to accommodate both the customer's needs and the Company's financial objectives. This includes managing and being responsible for the project schedule and the resources assigned to the project (people, materials, and services).
Responsibilities:
Receive, discuss and accept the project hand-off from Sales team, making sure the scope of supply and the contractual terms and conditions are clear. Discuss and accept the target project profitability with Project Leader.
Maintain internal ERP system data, ensuring internal and external dates reflect current project status.
Analyzes contractual requirements, identifies risks and issues, and develops alternatives that lead to the best solution.
Discuss and negotiate with Engineering Manager the resources required to complete the project within required constraints (time and available hours) considering the required technical skills.
Calls and manages internal meetings with project team as required throughout the active life of the project to define initial project schedule, get updates on execution, discuss requests from changes received by customers, discuss any schedule changes and any other relevant issues.
Focal communication point with customer, including but not limited to: setting expectations at the beginning of the project, schedule, contractual issues, scope of supply. Negotiates schedule with customer. This may include travel to customer office or site for meetings, and managing testing activities.
Acts as the primary contact between the business unit, legal and commercial entities ensuring all statutory and contractual matters are addressed efficiently and promptly. Works with Finance to trigger customer invoicing.
Discuss and settles with customer change requests.
Manages supply of external goods and/or services. This includes finding cost-effective solutions compatible with project technical requirements and schedule. Manages the relation with suppliers as required with the help of Purchasing Department.
Responsible for driving the project to successful completion, meeting established targets of delivery and project profitability.
Tracks and reports project status on a periodic basis. Upon project completion, analyze: project profitability, revenue, margins, utilization, customer satisfaction. Capture lessons learned and give feedback to other departments.
May have direct reports; responsible for supervision of work performed by project team. Responsibilities include training and directing work on assigned project. Motivates team to work together in the most efficient manner.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university plus two to five year experience in project management or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) desired.
Knowledge & Skills:
Understands basic revenue models, P/L, and cost-to-completion projections.
Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of general corporate business practices, government and commercial contracting regulations and principles, subcontracting practices, insurance, accounting and finance principles
Ability to advise and interact with all levels of management
Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office products
