The Health and Safety Specialistwill be responsible for the implementation of corporate health and safety programs and will report to the Corporate Manager, Health and Safety. This individual will provide technical support to a range of North American operations in a role that provides opportunity for a strong career path with a well-established and respected leader in the upstream oil and gas industry.

Responsibilities:
-Deliver Health & Safety training and risk control programs to field personnel.
-Conduct risk assessments for field operations and provide control recommendations.
-Lead incident investigations that develop effective corrective action plans.
-Assist individual Business Units in developing and successfully implementing annual Health & Safety plans based on internationally recognized industry standards such as OHSAS 18001.
-Conduct field audits and track the Business Unit's Health and Safety performance against the annual plan and with a focus on continual improvement.

Specific Requirements:
-Three to five years of field experience implementing and auditing Health & Safety activities in industrial or energy related operations.
-Working knowledge of Risk Management principals and procedures related to energy or industrial operations.
-College Degree from accredited university or equivalent experience.
-Strong interpersonal, leadership and managerial skills
-Have a can-do attitude with the ability to recommend and implement the necessary programs to support health & safety initiatives
-Oil & gas experience with an intermediate to large producer or processor would be an asset.
-Certified Safety Professional designation would be desirable but not required.
-Strong work ethic and desire for continuous improvement
-Strong verbal, listening, writing, computer and presentation skills
