Job Description:

Our client, a large Exploration and Production company located in Downtown Houston is seeking a Drilling Engineering Manager to manage the drilling and completions planning program.
Manages and supervises drilling and workover department to achieve goals within available resources
• Provides leadership and direction in the development of short and long range drilling studies, reports, and recommendations
• Incorporates best practices and technical limits methodology into company's drilling and completions planning and operations
• Manages well concept planning and design
• Responsible for department (s) budgeting and capital expenditure programs
• Manages and assesses the drilling, financial, and Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) risks involved in company's drilling, completion, and workover operations
• Manages rig site technical support during critical/unusual operations
• Manages the coordination with other disciplines, including contractors and regulatory agencies, during the planning of drilling, workover, and completion operations
• Manages preparation of scopes of work, evaluates, and recommends contractors to provide best-fit services and materials for drilling operations.
• Plans and organizes workloads and staff assignments; trains, motivates, and evaluates assigned staff; and reviews progress and directs changes as needed
• Supervises personnel and conducts employee performance evaluations; Assists with salary administration; Manages hiring and retention of personnel
• Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional associations
Requirements:
• Minimum 10 years exploration and production experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Engineering
• Hydraulic fracturing experience
• Supervisory experience of drilling engineers
• Proven record of continuous improvement
• Ability to accurately solve problems and exceptional proficiency in data management. Exceptional ability in developing team momentum, enthusiasm, and pride in company when accomplishing company goals
• Self-starter with proven leadership skills, team player, comfortable working under pressure, and dedicated to developing workforce
• Outstanding management, administrative, and organizational skills
• Strong team building skills and ability to communicate effectively across all functions in the organization
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with specific ability to translate complex technical information into an organized and presentable manner
• Ability to work in a fast paced and fluid environment
