THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY:
· Works cooperatively and harmoniously with customers and fellow project team members.
· Designs parts and assemblies required for development of new products for seismic systems.
· Creates and reviews specifications, drawings, and bills of materials necessary to fully document new products for full-scale production.
· Create component descriptions and product structures in MRP system (Materials Requirements Planning).
· Performs simulations and stress analysis as required to predict the performance of designs.
· Supervise prototype assembly, performance testing and data collection.
· Composes and executes verification test programs for prototypes, analyze test data, and records results in detailed reports.
· Supports qualification testing and transition of newly developed products into production.
· Liaise with other departments, as required, to ensure that products are functional, reliable, and meet design specifications.
· May function as a leader and/or team member as part of the development team.
· Perform other related duties as necessary.
BACKGROUND PROFILE:
· Familiarity with wide variety of engineering materials used in seismic equipment manufacture including cabling, extrusion, and injection molding.
· In-depth knowledge of metal machining and fabrication techniques.
· Candidate must be competent in the use of AutoCAD and ProEngineer; FEA and Matlab expertise is desired.
· Competent in the use of Word, Excel, and other office software.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· A minimum of five years' experience in product design is desirable. Experience in the geophysical or subsea industry is a plus.
· BSME or MSME degree in Mechanical Engineering with minimum five year's design experience.
