We are currently seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to fill a direct hire opening with a large company within the Oil & Gas industry. This position includes benefits and will offer relocation assistance if needed.

Job Description:
Leads, directs and coordinates the engineering process of providing and arranging for timely and accurate technical information to support the Facilities Improvement Process and the technical needs of all other processes. Directs and coordinates the entire engineering process to design, install, remove, modify, test monitor manufacturing of equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems by performing duties personally or through engineering and operations teams.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Select, develops and manages the Engineering staff to provide technical, developmental, project design and management, failure analysis, maintenance, administrative and corrective support services to the Operations, Maintenance and Oil Movement processes.
• Determines non-routine technical needs of customers and assists in formulating solutions for problems.
• Performs research and development for repair, failure analysis and new installations. Provides written and oral communication of results. Provides for or arranges for technical assistance in any form required.
• Reviews engineering work with internal regulatory group and coordinates needed permits; communicates technical responses to customers and assists with technical supervision when needed.
• Provides leadership and innovation to identify opportunities for improvement or additions to company systems.
• Demonstrates leadership in project management and engineering processes by developing procedures, and specifications.
• Ensures engineering concerns are addressed and fully supported within the organization. Evaluates current and projected departmental performance, prepares daily reports of departmental activity.
• Initiates innovative actions to resolve variances in performance. Works closely with Projects Manager to optimize the construction, constructability, and operability of projects.
• Proposes changes to company policies and procedures to maintain compliance with regulations and improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
• Responsible for failure analysis and corrective action for all significant and costly failures and others requiring design changes. Conducts investigations to determine cause of the failure and implement and recommend corrective action.
• Performs tasks assigned to Engineering by managing, scheduling, budgeting, control, procurement, evaluations and problem solution where needed.
• Maintain required training and certification(s) according to company and OSHA Standards.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of and strictly adheres to company safety requirements.
• Directs and supervises the work of the Engineering staff; determines work priorities, schedules work assignments, evaluates work performed, orients, counsels, and trains staff.
Requirements/Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science (B.S.) Degree in engineering discipline such as Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Electrical or Mechanical required.
• Minimum of ten (10) years experience as an corrosive, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, or project engineer either in design and construction of major marine, liquid pipeline and oil movement systems
• Minimum of five (5) years managing peer level and entry level engineers.
• Demonstrated proficiency troubleshooting and failure analysis within an energy related industry with experience in support of construction and maintenance projects within an operating energy production, transportation or processing asset.
• Expert knowledge of crude oil pipeline, pumping, and measurement systems.
• Knowledge in pipeline, offshore structures, marine, and onshore integrity management required.
• Expert knowledge in ASME, API and PHMSA standards related to the design, operation and maintenance of petroleum liquids systems required
• State of Louisiana Professional Engineer or exam eligible with LAPELS & NCEES within one year of employment preferred.
• Able to effectively, interpret and communicate policies and procedures to staff supervised.
• Ability to relay logic and how to read control schematics.
• Knowledge of crude oil pipeline pumping and meter systems is a plus.
• Must be able to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals.
• Ability to read and interpret maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and regulations is required; ability to effectively analyze and write routine correspondence is required.
• Ability to demonstrate and interpret measures taken for documentation and to effectively present information to management, public groups, and/or owner representatives.
• Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
• Ability to apply mathematical operations to task such as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions apply in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
• Must be able to interact and communicate in English, both orally and written, with all employees, contractors, and customers in effective manner.
• This position requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
• Must have the visual acuity to normal or near normal standards (correctible to not less than 20/40 in each eye), and be able to obtain a visual field score (VFS) of not less than 70.
• Must also have unaided average hearing threshold of 70db or less in each ear.
