Chevron Energy Technology Company (ETC) is accepting online applications for the position of Senior Modeling and Simulation Engineer located in Houston, Texas.

Position Details:  Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

This position provides both steady-state and dynamic process simulation support to business unit and major capital projects. Technical application areas include steady-state process simulation and process engineering software, dynamic process simulations, operator training simulators, integrated simulation systems, and model-based applications. Technical support includes modeling and simulation software consultation, contracts and license management, end user training, FEED support for capital projects, simulation project management, process model development and analysis, execution and support of high-fidelity simulators, supplier liaison and technology assessment.

Required Qualifications:


Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering degree required.

Minimum 10 years experience in process simulations, process design and operations. Experience with software applications or automation systems required.

Demonstrated strong mathematical modeling skills.

Strong background in facilities design and operations, and extensive process modeling experience is required.

Clear and concise oral and written communications.

Able to stay abreast of product and industry developments, assess new simulation technologies and to determine the right opportunities for their application. Able to serve leadership role in vendor/partner relationships, and influence product developments to address Chevron requirements. Able to support Chevron initiatives to deploy and support new technologies, can present new technologies to project and/or operating teams to promote implementation.

Demonstrated strong project and business management skills. Able to manage contracts, develop and maintain realistic schedule and cost control for a team, and provide direction to engineering contractors. Strong organizational skills, able to manage diverse workload for multiple customers and maintain consistently high levels of performance.

Preferred Qualifications:


Master of Science degree or higher preferred.

Upstream processing experience desirable.

Knowledge of multiple process simulation packages or software programming a plus.

Formal project management or supervisory experience desirable.

Relocation Options:

Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters.

International Considerations:

Expatriate assignments will not be considered.
