Chevron North American Exploration & Production, a division of Chevron U.S.A., Inc. is accepting online applications for the position of Health, Environment, & Safety (HES) Team Lead - Environmental located in Bakersfield, California through February 19, 2012.

Overview:

This position is the team lead for the environmental staff, which entails the management of waste, water, plant and animal species, and land use aspects of the SJVBU's operations.


Position Details:  Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:


Develops a strategic plan for BU environmental efforts and effectively managing the team so that stated objectives and milestones are achieved.

Aligns efforts with Business Unit (BU) objectives.

Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.

Develops, communicates, and implements compliance strategies when new regulations or situations occur.

Monitors and undertakes appropriate advocacy actions when new regulations are proposed.

Required Qualifications:


Bachelor's degree in HES or related engineering field, minimum 5 years HES Environmental experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Minimum 7 years HES Safety Specialist experience.

Documented strong knowledge of domestic environmental regulatory structure.

Demonstrated knowledge and support of business focus and key business unit HES objectives.

Proven implementation of project or BU-wide initiatives.

Proven business unit compliance support for various waste environmental policies and practices.

Proven strong computer related skills including all office based applications and web based data systems.

Proven ability to analyze data/information, draw conclusions, and make recommendations regarding environmental issues.

Proven experience in interpreting environmental regulations and developing appropriate action plans.

Proven strong presentation skills, both oral and written.

Documented effective communication with all levels of business unit employess and business partners (peers, management, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:

Proven specific knowledge of California environmental regulations and regulatory structure.

Relocation Options:

Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters.

International Considerations:

Expatriate assignments may be considered.
