Chevron North American Exploration & Production, a division of Chevron U.S.A., Inc. is accepting online applications for the position of Health, Environment, & Safety (HES) Specialist - Environmental located in Bakersfield, California through February 19, 2012.

Overview:

This position is responsible for developing and implementing waste compliance issues across the Business Unit, along with supporting specific projects as needed.


Position Details:  Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:


Manages the various waste streams generated in daily operations.

Maintains responsibility for the development and training of personnel associated with waste generation activities.

Manages waste related business partner activities.

Interacts with regulatory agencies.

Otherwise enables compliance with various regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications:


Bachelor's degree in HES or related engineering field, minimum 5 years HES Environmental experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Minimum 5 years HES Environmental Specialist experience.

Documented strong understanding of federal and state waste generation and handling regulations and/or domestic regulatory structure.

Demonstrated knowledge and support of business focus and key business unit HES objectives.

Proven ability to conduct waste generation and handling training.

Documented strong presentation skills, both oral and written.

Proven strong computer related skills including all office based applications and web based data systems.

Proven ability to analyze data/information, draw conclusions, and make recommendations regarding waste generation, handling, and potential reductions.

Relocation Options:

Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters.

International Considerations:

Expatriate assignments may be considered.
