Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Pipeline Scoping Engineer located in Bellaire, Texas through February 15, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. (EST).

The Scoping Engineer provides pipeline technical support for the development of Chevron's Project Development & Execution Process (CPDEP) Phase 1 & 2 of major capital growth opportunities in the USA and International locations. This position also provides pipeline consulting and/or small project management services to international operating company partners. Future needs of the business could require this person to be placed on an international residential or rotating assignment in Australia or the UK.

Position Details:  Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:


Leads multi-functional team with expertise necessary to achieve objectives, work interfaces with support groups and team members with multiple (matrix style) organizational reporting relations.

Prepare project cost estimates and schedules, conduct scoping and feasibility studies, design and construction management

Manage multiple work activities and meet customer requirements.

Perform hydraulic analysis and operational capability studies reporting back as necessary.

Must work effectively in a team environment.

Demonstrate Chevron Way Behaviors.

Operational Excellence & CSOC focus.


Required Qualifications:


Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Civil, Mechanical, or Petroleum Engineering.

A minimum of 5 years of related experience.

Demonstrated experience using project management skills to prepare project cost estimates and schedules, conduct scoping and feasibility studies, design and construction management, team building, resource planning, procurement, permitting and application of CPDEP or equal with emphasis in pipeline facilities.

Demonstrated ability to effectively plan, schedule and manage multiple work activities (projects) to meet customer needs and expectations.

Knowledge of gas / liquid on/off-shore pipeline industry construction, repairs, operations, maintenance, and engineering principles and practices, skilled in regulatory codes associated with pipeline / piping design and construction. Capable of performing hydraulic analysis and operational capability studies.

Must work constructively with others (inside and outside of Company) to achieve positive results. Must work effectively in a team environment.


Preferred Qualifications:


Strong Pipeline experience.

Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters.

International Considerations:

Expatriate assignments will not be considered.
