Chevron Project Resources Company (PRC) is focused on supporting Chevron's major capital projects in a way that safely delivers project commitments while fully leveraging people and capital to deliver profitable growth. PRC serves as the central source of expertise for the development and execution of major capital projects and strategically important non-capital projects. PRC provides project engineering and project management resources to Chevron's Upstream, Downstream and Midstream business units located around the world.
PRC employees are required to be mobile with willingness and ability to accept domestic and international work assignments as needed. The assignments could be residential or rotational for short, or extended, periods of time.

The Construction Manager reports to the Project Manager and is responsible for managing fabrication and field activities. The Construction Manager is responsible for ensuring that the execution of construction conforms with the project plans and objectives. The Construction Manager must ensure that the project facility is safe, operable, maintainable, cost-effective, constructable and reliable.



Position Details:  Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:


• Travel to domestic and international locations ensuring safe execution of construction activities.
• Plans, organizes, coordinates and manages the execution of all activities related to the construction phase of assigned projects.
• Reviews engineering and procurement schedules to ensure compatibility with the construction schedule; monitors construction budget performance.
• Develops preliminary construction execution plans during early project development. Coordinates with contractors to ensure constructability is built into project designs.
• Coordinates with plant operations to ensure project completion meets Chevron standards.
• Demonstrates strong safety leadership behaviors using safety programs (integrating contractor's programs) based around commitment to Incident and Injury free (IIF) performance.


Required Qualifications:
• A minimum of 8 years of construction management experience managing capital construction projects in Oil and Gas or Industrial facilities.
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed. Work assignment could be residential or rotational for short, or extended, periods of time.
• Must have an understanding and demonstrated commitment implementing safe work practices. A strong focus on contractor safety performance is a critical component of this job.
• Demonstrated knowledge of construction management practices on major capital projects.
• Strong communications skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to facilitate consensus and team building.
• Experience and ability to work with engineering contractors in their offices.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze a variety of technical and non-technical problems using creative thinking and sound judgment. Able to work independently to achieve results and remove barriers.
• Knowledge of construction contracting strategy and compensation, lean construction/productivity improvement principles, conflict resolution principles, contract administration, capital steward ship principles, QA/QC principles, management of change principals, material management principles, coordination with engineering functions and systems completion/pre-commissioning principles.
• Demonstrated knowledge, leadership, and experience in managing contractors. Mature individual who has a ''can do'' attitude and is willing to provide coaching and mentoring to others.
• Demonstrated ability to bring together diverse skill groups and abilities to get the job done, assisting the group in working with a sense of purpose and urgency. Can assume multiple roles if required. Strong commitment to working in a team environment and able to develop strong interpersonal relationships.
• Able to work with multi-cultural employees, partners, and government representatives. Comfortable working in a multi-cultural environment, able to combine respect for the local culture with the business requirements of the investors, able to exercise patience and understanding of cultural differences and demonstrated patience in coping with language barriers.


Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management.
• Multi-lingual skill's beneficial.
