Chevron Gulf of Mexico Business Unit is accepting online applications for the position of Reservoir Engineer located in Covington, LA through February 12, 2012.

The position will be a member of an asset development team, composed of Reservoir Engineers, Production Engineers and Geologists. This position will support asset development and reservoir management activities for Chevron's Deepwater assets in the Gulf of Mexico Business Unit. Deepwater Gulf of Mexico has both operated and non-operated assets with net production of approximately 120,000 BOEPD, as well as annual net capital of over $500 MM. Projects involve incorporating multiple state of the art deepwater technologies.

The successful candidate will be responsible for asset development, reservoir management and satellite exploratory activities, in support of Chevron's active investment program. Some specific responsibilities may include appraisal / pilot well planning, business plan forecasting, assessing and maintaining an opportunity queue, and development scenario planning using Reservoir Simulation tools. Candidate will also work cooperatively with NOJV and operated Asset teams, as well as partner peers as needed.

Required Qualifications:


Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum, Chemical Engineering or relate discipline.

Minimum of 3 years of related experience in oil and gas.

Technical Skill - Demonstrated knowledge in primary and secondary reservoir engineering concepts and processes; including volumetric determination; rock and fluid properties; well and reservoir performance surveillance/monitoring analysis and improvement; reserves estimation, reservoir/asset management and field development planning. Reservoir Modeling and Simulation - applies technical skills such as dynamic simulation modeling/experimental design, and performs holistic reservoir analysis to provide reliable future performance predictions.

Business Acumen - Delivers business results, understanding of business drivers and ability to develop execution and business plans to meet objectives. Economic Evaluation and Decision Analysis processes - Demonstrated ability in opportunity identification maturation and evaluation of multiple development options; risk and uncertainty analysis, as well as use of project management tools and processes.

Communication, team and interpersonal skills - Demonstrates ability to clearly convey concepts and objectives orally; in presentations and in technical reports; both with internal company stakeholders as well as externally to influence JV partners. Works effectively and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team, respected for technical and business contributions, effectively works with JV partners, and manages technical engagements regarding field development optimization. Demonstrated leadership capabilities, high level of initiative, able to mentor others.
