Chevron North America Exploration & Production Company (CNAEP) is accepting online applications for the position of Senior Reservoir Engineer located in Bakersfield, CA.
Overview:
Responsibilities of the Senior Reservoir Engineer in the San Joaquin Valley Business Unit area include identification and reservoir engineering support of steamflood pattern expansions and replacement wells. Position requires working with other Asset Development team members to analyze and plan reservoir development projects.
Provide formal mentoring and guidance to 1 to 2 less experienced and early career engineers and/or Summer intern employees may also be included in job responsibilities.
This role will involve working in one of the premier heavy oil operations in the world. Fields consist of both horizontal and conventional vertical wells. Production methods include steamflood and cyclic steam enhanced oil recovery.
Position Details: Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Work closely with earth scientists, production engineers and facilities engineers to analyze, plan and implement reservoir development projects.
Performing lookbacks
Analyzing well data
Supporting business plan development
Tracking reservoir processing of heavy oil reservoirs
Providing accurate gas, oil, and water forecasts for future developments.
Providing proved reserves and resource calculations for booking into Chevrons Reserve System.
Cooperate with operations and production engineers, asset development teams, operators and other technical personnel to maximize economic production, as well as assist in the execution of asset development plans.
Required Qualifications:
A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Petroleum Engineering.
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
Reservoir engineering experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of reservoir engineering concepts and processes; including volumetric determination; rock and fluid properties; performance monitoring/improvement; reserves estimation and asset/field development planning.
Database querying and statistical analysis skills.
The ability to develop workable solutions, as well as implement optimum results using available technical tools (DSS, MS Office, spreadsheets, query, macros and Petroleum Economics Evaluation program).
Preferred Qualifications:
Steamflood experience and Heat Management skills.
Relocation Options:
Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters.
International Considerations:
Expatriate assignments will not be considered.
