Under broad direction responsible for managing, organizing, planning and continually improving the Land Department functions and processes with regard to the company's global oil and gas property interests with particular emphasis on support to the Oil & Gas Asset Managers. Seeks advice from and provides input to the Law and Accounting departments on land matters. Provides input during project acquisition and participates in contract negotiations. Manage's the company's land assets through the daily administration of project contracts. Initiates, responds to and advises management of actions regarding election letters, well proposals, contract amendments, confidentiality requirements, critical contract dates and provisions, closing statements and the like. Supervises and coordinates the efforts of brokers and Land Department staff. Interacts with partner company land personnel at all levels. Job role has budgetary type of accountabilities or directly impacts a revenue center's viability or its quality of service via personal contributions. Job role contributes directly to value creation. Skills are typically acquired through an undergraduate degree in Petroleum Land Management and a minimum of 8-10 years related experience with an oil & gas company. Registration as a Certified Professional Landman is preferred.
