Job Description:

Main Job Function:
To provide mechanical engineering expertise.
Key Responsibility Areas:
• Leading and directing specialists and external engineering contractor studies for mechanical and rotating equipment as required for the project.
• Writing and/or providing technical input into feasibility studies, functional specifications, and Basis of Design for production and processing facilities.
• Participating in process safety management, including hazard identification and HAZOP activities.
• Contributing to a database of size, weight, cost and delivery time of major equipment and packages associated with onshore and offshore facilities.
• Reviewing and keeping updated, the project Basis of Design/Statement of Requirements for the relevant discipline, including collation and analysis of relevant data from the Experimental Program Project.
• To ensure that all opportunities offered by introduction of new technologies are pursued and evaluated.
• To ensure that lessons learned from operations and activities performed and all experience gained in the relevant discipline is valued and capitalised.
• Liason for the out of gauge equipment.
• Demonstrate a personal commitment to Health, Safety and the Environment by following the Project's HSE Plan and training requirements.
Candidate Specifications:
• Relevant Engineering degree
• Excellent technical abilities as a Mechanical Engineer, particularly in relation to a full understanding of rotating equipment. Ability to define contractor scope of work and review work progress and reports.
• Excellent interpersonal and team-working skills to include formal report writing, formal presentations and the ability to work with a wide range of personnel from a multi-cultural and multi-functional environment.
• Full understanding of HSE importance in planning and executing projects; Proactive approach to HSE issues and safety/hazard management.
• Demonstrable working knowledge of relevant technical codes and standards within the mechanical engineering discipline.
• Ability to write concise and well structured technical reports.
• Effectively communicate engineering issues to client management and Partners.
• Ability to introduce, challenge and effectively integrate innovative technology.
