Job Description:
|
 Main Job Function:
To provide civil engineering expertise within project development (from Conceptual Design to Commissioning/Start-up, including contractors design reviews) assuring that civil works design meet the required engineering standards.
Key Responsibility Areas:
- Technical integrity of civil engineering design
- Accuracy of civil works cost and schedule estimates
- HSEQ standards, procedures and best practice application to civil engineering design and construction plan
- Coordinating geotechnical and geophysical survey
- Identifying and adopting the correct civil engineering/construction standards according to company procedures, local norms and legislation (especially about safety, pollution, HSEQ)
- Preparing technical and contractual specifications for constructions, infrastructures and civil works
- Civil engineering reviewing and approving of contractor's documentation
- Design reviewing (construction and installation design; yard field)
- Reviewing civil works and constructions cost
- Reviewing and evaluating civil works and constructions bid
- Supporting construction manager planning and monitoring project execution (schedule, cost and compliance of work to project specifications)
- Providing technical support to civil works contractors
Candidate Specifications:
• Relevant Engineering degree (Civil Engineering preferred)
A few years experience in Civil Engineering
A few years experience in the Oil & Gas industry
Problem solving and decision making skills
Relationship building and communication skills
The candidate must have proven experience with:
- Contracting (Generic)
- Technical Specifications and Bidding (Generic)
- Organisation Processes: Company / Corporate organisation, internal standards, suppliers qualification methodology and techniques, Feed-back development and diffusion, Technical audit and Design Review, Documentation management, Site Management
- Supports and technologies: Standard ISO, TQM and Quality system, Technical requirement and Standard
- Compliance: Mining Legislation, Local/National and International Standard and Codes, Health, Safety, Environment, Quality, Tender procedure, Health of Site Management
- Plant Design: Utilities Design
- Onshore Structures Design: Geotechnical & Geophysical Survey
- Construction & Installation: Site Construction, Inspection, Plant construction, Control system knowledge, Inspection, control and testing techniques
