Job Description:

A large International Operator seeks an experiences Shale Geologist to join thier subsurface team in thier Dallas offices. An attractive staff package is offered.
Key Experience:
A min of 5-7 years onshore exploration experience is desirable and ideally applicant's should have 2-4 years' experience with US shale projects in several basins, with operational field experience.
The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of the special aspects of US shale gas, including geology, desorption analysis, gas saturation, petrophysics, geophysics, porosity and fracturing mechanics. The ability to relate geological deposition and tectonic stresses over time to production of US shales is crucial.
Candidates should have the skills that enable them to:
- Be comfortable with uncertainty and risks in evaluating prospects.
- Be familiar with available support services, such as laboratories, consultants and research institutes.
- Understand the proper procedures for establishing gas content and OGIP.
- Be familiar with reservoir engineering and operations to work productively as part of a multi-disciplinary US shale team.
Software:
- Proficient in Petra and ArcGis software, with a working knowledge of Petrel and SMT Kingdom.
- Working knowledge of Landmark StratWorks, SeisWorks, IHS EDIN-GIS and ProbE is preferred.
