• Execute daily inspections and maintenance on all mechanical equipment
• Supervise and promote the Preventive Maintenance System (PMS)
• Carry out maintenance according to the PMS guidelines and coordinate with supervisors and the other department heads
• Sustain and repair power plants and monitor power distribution and ensure power is available at all times
• Maintain, operate and repair as required the engine cooling water system, lube oil system, and fuel systems
• Troubleshoot and repair any/and all faulty mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic drilling equipment and tools
• Offer support in maintaining marine equipment, i.e. cranes, thrusters, ballast pumps and valves, and auxiliary equipment
• Warrant the permit to work and isolation systems is followed
• Employ the follow up requirements to audits, as issued by Clients requirements
• Support in ensuring that all third party equipment is fit for purpose, certified, correctly installed, and maintained whilst on the rig
• Maintain an ample supply of spares in order to fulfill maintenance requirements and facilitate a safe and efficient operation
• Provide information to assist in the development of maintenance and repair budget
