• Make sure pre-job meeting is carried out for all non-routine drilling operations
• Make certain the Driller is informed on an ongoing basis as to the well program objectives and correspond effectively with any changes in plans
• Monitor the maintenance, repair and mechanism of all drilling equipment including repair, lubrication, maintenance records, and inventory levels
• Sustain records of inspections and certification of drilling equipment, tools and tubular
• Ensure the mud mixing systems and the solid control equipment is being monitored constantly and maintained
• Relieve the Driller at the Driller's console as operations requires
• Contribute in the daily operations meeting with the OIM, Senior Toolpusher and other rig department heads.
• Monitor the application of the Companies Preventative Maintenance System program within the drilling department.
• Review and approve all drilling related work permits.
• Supervise equipment preparation for impending drilling operations
• Maintain proper relations with senior Toolpusher and Drilling crew.
• Mentor less senior crew members and demonstrate high QHSE and safety levels
