• Maintains systems and equipment in area of responsibility in compliance with Company Preventive Maintenance Program and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Stand Engine Room watch and conduct routine inspection of machinery.
• Operating various power and hand tools and machinery to perform various inspections, repairs, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting responsibilities.
• Repair systems, equipment and components in assigned Engine room and support areas as directed by supervisor.
• Must have operational knowledge and skills to perform and/ or assist in assigned essential functions including but not limited to:
• Starting and stopping main diesel engines, auxiliary engines, pumps, generators, compressors and auxiliary support equipment.
• Replacing dirty lube oils with clean lube oils in various rotating mechanical equipment..
• Reading and monitoring all equipment gauges and recording temperatures and operating hours, maintaining engine log
• Maintaining oil systems, air systems, water systems, and fuel systems.
• Maintaining hydraulic, electrical and lubrication systems.
• Maintaining bilge systems and propulsion systems by specific rig type requirements.
• Maintains housekeeping in area of responsibility to clean and safe standards.
