Job Purpose:
This position which reports to Head (Commercial), Commercial Department, Strategy & New Ventures Division is responsible to develop distinctive commercial arrangements and develop best value for E&P investment opportunities and lead commercial negotiations to enhance and capture value for E&P business and to provide cross business opportunities by leveraging on new and existing assets and portfolio to meet the Corporate Agenda and growth target
Job Accountability:
1. Plan & Strategy
Strategize and drive the formulation of long term commercial strategy and targets for respective regions for future growth through strategic game plan and alliances with relevant stakeholders' to increase value and returns on E&P portfolio and assets.
Develop strategy for best fit portfolio, target country and best fit winning coalitional with key business partners (both National oil Company - NOC and International Oil Company -IOC)
2. Commercial Arrangements
Strategize and lead in the formulation of commercial arrangement and business framework including options/scenarios and recommendation through various market analysis, insiders information, syndication and technical reviews for E&P portfolio/assets/investments including mergers and acquisitions to increase value and returns on invested capital as per shareholders' aspiration and expectation
Creatively formulate commercial arrangement and propose best value for any assets disposal or divestment for non-performing assets and not strategic fit within PETRONAS EP business and ensure value are optimized.
3. Commercial Negotiations
Lead and drive the development of guiding principles and strategies in negotiating and deal making in respect of various E&P key contracts and related agreement with relevant stakeholders' to protect E&P value, and interests.
Lead the commercial negotiation for all E & P contracts/ arrangements with relevant stakeholders' to ensure value creation for E&P whilst safeguarding PETRONAS' interest.
Drive the resolution of contractual disputes and issues through syndications and reaching a consensus to achieve optimal returns to both parties and protect E&P values and PETRONAS's interests including its corporate image.
4. Commercial Valuation
Drive the valuation of all new business opportunities and determine the fair purchase value for E&P to acquire to create further growth in E&P Portfolio.
Strategically evaluate existing portfolio and assets which give minimal returns for potential divestment or up for disposal/sales or consolidation of various portfolios to give improved returns.
5 . Advisory Role
Provide expert advice on commercial related matters during opportunity screening, proposal/project evaluation, company valuation to ensure the strategic fit with existing portfolio management plan so as to safeguard PETRONAS business interest, image and reputation.
Qualification & Experience:
* Degree in any discipline. Degree in Geosciences or Law is preferred.
* MBA would be an added advantage.
* 10-15 years experience in upstream activities.
* Possess experience in new ventures activities.
