 Job Purpose:
This position which reports to Head (Strategy & New Ventures), Strategy & New Ventures Division is responsible to develop, lead, strategize and drive E&P commercial arrangements through deal making, commercial negotiations to capture strategic investment opportunities and portfolio in respect of new PSC blocks acquisition under various contract arrangements,, existing assets need improved terms, divestment and M&A opportunity by formulating distinctive commercial arrangement for bid submission, valuation of potential portfolio candidates and leveraging on existing PSC fiscal terms plus its economics and commercial framework to maximize E&P asset and create further value across EP business to meet the Corporate Agenda.
Job Accountability:
1. Plan & Strategy
Conceptualize and drive the formulation of commercial strategy and targets in line with stakeholders' requirement to meet E&P business objectives.
2. Commercial Framework and Deal Making
Strategize and lead in the formulation of commercial framework, commercial arrangement and deal making arrangement for certain opportunity of existing assets, future portfolio/asset/investment opportunities including mergers and acquisition of strategic companies in respect of Malaysia and international blocks for growth and to maximize value for E&P.
Design distinctive deal structure in preparation of a competitive and winning bids, M&A valuation (acquired price), divestment / disposal of assets (sales price) to interested buyer and other acquisitions mode e.g. assets swap etc.
3. Commercial Negotiations
Conceptualize and drive commercial negotiation strategies and lead in commercial negotiation for all commercial arrangements with relevant stakeholders' (NOCs and/or IOCs) to capture value for E&P whilst safeguarding PETRONAS' interest.
Champion and drive strategic winning coalition with key and strategic NOCs and IOCs and relevant stakeholders' to capture identified and new business opportunities to meet E&P business target.
4. Commercial Valuation
Champion and drive due diligence on all commercial arrangements to capture optimum investment value for asset acquisition or divestment whilst safeguarding PETRONAS' and shareholder's interest.
5. Portfolio and Commercial Risks assessment
Strategize, evaluate and mitigate commercial risks and other associated business and operational risks in respect of new EP portfolio and investment.
6. Advisory Role
Provide expert advice on commercial related matters during opportunity screening, proposal/project evaluation, company valuation to ensure the strategic fit with existing portfolio management plan so as to safeguard PETRONAS business interest, image and reputation.
Qualification & Experience:
Degree in any discipline. Degree in Geosciences or Law is preferred.
MBA would be an added advantage.
15 years experience in upstream activities.
Possess experience in new ventures activities.
