Baker Hughes is seeking an Applications Engineer for their facility in Broken Arrow, OK for operations and customer technical support for cased hole completions tools.
The Applications Engineer advises sales personnel, customers and potential customers on the technical issues that affect the installation and/or sales of products and services of the organization. This position also provides support to operations and manufacturing, and may assist sales personnel in the preparation of bids including meeting with customers to develop and design products and services.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
ü Field Technical Support - advises sales personnel, customers, and potential customers on technical issues that affect installation or sales of products.
ü Quotation/Tender Support - provide equipment specifications and proposal packages as needed.
ü Assist with Product Line Management with gathering market data to identify new product opportunities.
ü Perform Feasibility Study tasks, including design layouts and calculations, in support of new opportunities.
ü Assist with Business Cases and design project kick off meetings, assist with the development and implementation of product launch plans.
ü Product Promotion - Create and maintain product presentations, catalogues, technical articles, competitor analysis, intranet and internet materials.
ü Create and provide product presentations, training, and product design reviews for customers in support of sales opportunities.
ü Product Training - Create, maintain, and conduct product training presentations for BOT employees at education centres and field locations.
ü Project Management support for projects including coordination of activities across departments and locations.
ü Develop and maintain product sales, installation, and reliability databases and conduct product reliability studies.
ü Handle special projects as assigned by Product Line Manager or Tech Services Manager.
ü Develop both Baker Hughes and customer relationships within assigned geographic region(s).
ü Travel to international locations in support of product is required.
ü Provide afterhours technical product support for field operations and customers when required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering discipline, with 2+ years of engineering design and/or applications engineering (cased hole completion tool design experience preferred).
- OR Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering discipline, with one year of engineering design or applications engineer, or research experience.
Knowledge
ü In-depth knowledge of mechanical design, engineering layouts, engineering drawings, and calculations.
ü Understanding of various Baker Hughes completion product lines is a plus.
ü In depth understanding of Subsurface Safety Valve product design, function, and application is a plus.
ü Basic understanding of cased hole completion products and designs is desired.
ü Demonstrated skill with Microsoft Office programs to include: Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.
ü Demonstrated skill with 2D and/or 3D CAD software.
ü Use of outputs from advanced analysis tools such as FEA and CFD.
