Seadrill is looking for experienced Technical Section Leader to join our expanding fleet of new Jack-ups Rigs operating in the South East Asia region.
The Technical Section Leader is the owner of the MMS (Maintenance Management System) onboard the rig and is responsible for ensuring that all maintenance activities onboard the rig, for all plant and services are carried out safely in accordance with Seadrill core values (SAILP) and TEMPO, in order to maintain the rig in full maintenance compliance
JOB DESCRIPTION:
To ensure that all maintenance work for all departments onboard the rig is performed safely, and in accordance with statutory and company regulations.
To ensure a proper risk assessment, proper isolation under the permit to work system and toolbox talk is carried out prior to commencing any maintenance activity. Should any part of the job change, then the risk assessment must be re-visited prior to completing the task.
To liaise daily with department heads regarding maintenance / class work/repairs to ensure that access to equipment requiring maintenance is coordinated with the drilling operation in order to facilitate an uninterrupted drilling program and to deliver the maintenance compliance targets.
Liaise with OIM/Barge Master to plan for fabric maintenance of the rig to maintain corrosion protection.
Carry out maintenance look-ahead together with the Onshore Maintenance engineer and Barge Master to ensure that major survey / inspection and overhauls are planned and executed with minimum disruption to the drilling operation. This will include ensuring that all spares / third party vendor services are coordinated to be available and on site in a timeous manner (weekly call).
Ensure that an adequate supply of spare parts is maintained on the installation to minimize disruption to the operation and that spares are stored in environmentally sound conditions.
Responsible to all technical areas, mechanical / electrical workshops.
Supervises Mechanical Supervisor, Mechanic, Electrical Supervisor, Electrician, Motorman, third party vendors as appropriate. In addition will ensure that all Drilling and Marine routines are completed by the relevant personnel in a timeous manner
Ensure that all work is carried out to the requirements of the Permit-to-Work system and in compliance with Safety Procedures in force, initiates Permits-to-Work as necessary within their discipline and ensures all safety precautions are carried out.
Familiarize him / herself with the Company Safety Policy and to take all reasonable care to ensure the health and safety of him/ / herself and persons likely to be affected by his / her acts or omissions, as required under the company Safety Management System.
Ensure that the Company Safety Policy is fully implemented and adhered to by all persons under their authority.
Be familiar with all changes in regulations and requirements pertaining to the safe operation of electrical equipment in hazardous areas.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Qualification
HNC / ONC Electrical / Mechanical or equivalent, minimum recognised Trade Apprenticeship
Minimum of 5 years offshore experience in relevant position with HNC / ONC
Minimum of 10 years offshore experience with ONC / trade apprenticeship
