JOB SCOPE
• Maintain, repair, and fabricate equipment, general shop duties, and train shop personnel. Report to Manager on a routine basis. Report to supervisor on a routine schedule.
• Operate crane and/or forklift to load and unload jobs.
• Clean, service, and refurbish tools as required by supervisor.
• Assembly and disassembly of tools relative to services provided per location.
• Work with no supervision.
• Must be able to prepare jobs as directed
• Implement quality assurance process.
• Available on a 24 hour basis to respond to customer needs.
• Fabrication, repair, rebuild, and maintain equipment.
• Perform safety inspection, yard maintenance, and keep track of inventory in shop.
• Perform test runs on equipment; keep reports on equipment. Not to include welding or major engine repairs.
• Maintain tool and parts inventory.
• Maintain tool history and records.
• Forecast expenses for fiscal year.
• Oversee safety meetings and assure safe working conditions.
• Oversee that good housekeeping is maintained.
• Order shop supplies and parts as needed.
• Assist mechanic and field technicians with equipment repairs.
• Operate the following equipment: Forklift, crane, drill press, chop saw, pressure washer, pipe threading machine, hose machine, grinders, table grinders, compressors, boosters and mist pumps.
• Conduct trouble shooting for repairs of equipment.
• Maintain reports on safety, shop, and yard inventories.
• Assist in training of Equipment Maintenance Technicians I, II and III
• Support and communicate with all field employees, Supervisors, Managers, and Customers.
• Orientate new employees on Shop Safety, Work Standards, and update field technicians on new or changed policies.
• With the assistance from HR: recruit, hire, train staff, evaluate employee performance, and recommend or initiate promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum 5-8 years related experience
• Thorough knowledge of safety and work standards
• Ability to supervise fellow employees
• Good communications skills
• Able to delegate work effectively
• Able to work closely with fellow employees
• The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations.
• Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and /or carrying of objects weighing 25 pounds
