Drilling Operations Manager - Turkmenistan - Rotation (28/28)
A fantastic opportunity has arisen with our client a major operator, for a Drilling Operations Manager to be based in Turkmenistan on rotation.
Purpose of the Job:
Support the provision of onshore drilling services including HSE performance, operation and maintenance of assigned division drilling rigs and performance of all ancillary operations and services which are provided within the division. Apply effective & efficient well execution plans and ensure rig crews are properly inspecting, maintaining and operating assigned drilling rigs.
Key Responsibility Areas:
• Perform a necessary key leadership role
• Responsible for safe team work with respect to all rig operations
• Promote the principles of continuous improvement
• Maintain good two way communication with team members at the rig and base
• Coordinate the development of newly appointed senior team members landbase
• Ensure regulatory compliance is properly maintained
• Participate in company required and recommended training
• Provide guidance and support to personnel as required
• Ensure compliance with the clients HSEQ Management System
• Liaise with the client's representatives, in the execution of contract obligations
• Responsible to ensure the maintenance program is properly implemented and maintained on each assigned rig
• Guide rig personnel in pre-planning upcoming jobs with materials on hand to ensure that all planned and unplanned opportunities are maximized
• Maintain competent and capable rig crews and provide leadership in fostering the "safety-is-a-value" culture
• Assist in annual budget preparations and cost control procedures and be accountable for rig operating budget results
• Ensure that standards of supervision and personnel performance are monitored and communicated to rig crews through verbal communication and performance appraisals
• Ensure equipment repair and returns are monitored and expedited and certification requirements met
• Perform audits and rig inspections as necessary to maintain the highest operational standards
• Ensure that interfaces to operator HSEQ programs are defined and understood by rig crews
• Support the provision of consulting and specialist services related to all aspects the operation of assigned rigs
• Facilitate good resource planning, developmental training and succession planning processes
• Ensure the application of the clients policies and procedures to create effective work practices
• Support the provision of onshore drilling services including HSE performance, operation and maintenance of assigned division drilling rigs and performance of all ancillary operations and services which are provided within the division
Candidate Specifications:
- Relevant university degree
- Experience as a Rig Manager, preferably in a land base environment
- Good working knowledge of general drilling systems for land based operations
- Working knowledge of HSE practices common to the company and the industry
- Effective leadership skills
- Spoken and written English, Russian and Turkmen languages would be preferred
