Job Description:
Our client is a global market leader in safety systems for the Oil & Gas industry. The company designs embedded systems that are used for monitoring, control and emergency shutdown in a range of environments, including subsea and off-shore. Safety systems are designed using innovative fault-tolerant and failsafe architectures and must conform to exacting safety standards such as IEC 61508.

Position Description: The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for the technical integrity of the system design from the concept phase through detailed design, testing and site installation. He will typically oversee and direct the design and manufacture of SSB controls packages and panels. He will act as the lead engineer and technical authority on projects interfacing with client engineers relating to technical specifications and providing guidance and mentoring to subordinate staff.

Key Requirements:

    - BSc Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
    - Minimum 12 years experience in control and safety systems engineering within the Oil and Gas sector.
    - Must be able to work in a stressful environment where constructive feedback is encouraged.
    - Must be prepared to travel to site locations for site surveys, technical meetings and participation in installation/commissioning.
    Must have excellent conflict resolution skills.
    - Must be available and willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays to meet customer project commitments.
    - Must perform duties in the office as part of a project team and demonstrate technical leadership skills..
    - Solid understanding of control and safety system hardware and software design, the associated documentation and change management processes.

Job Summary:

    - Provides technical support and guidance to Sales and Estimating groups in the pursuit of business.
    - Will attend Customer review meetings to provide technical input and solutions during the sales effort and during project execution.
    - Acts as the lead engineer on projects and provides updates to project manager relating to status of activities, performance to schedule and performance to budget for engineering activities.
    - Builds relationships at the technical level with customers and manufacturing locations.
    - May perform detailed system design activities or supervise subordinate engineers.
    - Responsible for meeting project schedule, engineering hour budgets, and customer satisfaction targets for activities in support of the project team.
    - Responsible for following all applicable corporate, company, governmental and regulatory policies and procedures as appropriate for this position.
    - Supports an environment conducive to customer satisfaction.
