Duties
• Comply with all Ensco HSE policies as outlined in Ensco's QSMS document.
• Responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance on all shipboard engineering equipment and auxiliaries to include but not limited to:
Hull and Marine equipment
Power Generation/Distribution & Propulsion/Auxiliaries
HVAC systems (Mechanical Part & Gas)
Air Compressors (Including Dryers, receivers, etc.)
Potable Water system including calorifier
Sewage Treatment Plant
Oily Water Separators
Knuckleboom Deck Cranes
• Responsible for accurate and on-time record keeping of the following documents:
Engineering Daily Log
Oil Logs
Refrigerant Recovery Logs
• Ensure on-time sampling, submission and record-keeping of potable water, effluents and OWS discharge IAW regulatory bodies.
• Operate, monitor, evaluate, and document machinery performance and capacity.
• Initiates a MAF request when necessary to improve equipment reliability, operations efficiency or safety concerns.
• Manage fuel operations including bunkering, as necessary.
• Have a working knowledge and application of stability, trim and stress tables, diagrams and stress-calculating equipment in an effort to maintain watertight integrity and to advise the Master in such matters.
• Ensure that safe engine room watches are maintained to Company standards and International Regulations.
• Manage and train personnel in the Engineering Department.
• Ensure that Lifeboats and FRC's are maintained and serviced according to recommended procedures.
• Review and update operating procedures, in conjunction with other department heads, to ensure that the vessel's working operations are conducted in a way that prevents injury to personnel and/or damage to the vessel or equipment. Inform department personnel of any changes in these procedures.
• Review Engineering Department requisitions and expenditures. Ensure that unnecessary items are not purchased, and that inventory levels are adequate.
• Maintain adequate onboard supply of lubricants, filters and other consumables.
• Ensure good housekeeping of all Engineering workspaces and storage areas.
• Responsible for ensuring that his/her Certificate's of Competency and Medical are kept current.
• Keep written hand-over notes to ensure efficient and accurate transfer of information.
• Attend Company training as outlined in the Training Matrix for Deep Water GOM
Qualifications
• Certificate of Competence commensurate with national license requirements endorsed to STCW 95 convention (including amendments).
• Flag state licenses endorsements and medical certification where applicable.
• Medical: Commensurate with national license requirements.
• Training as per STCW 95 convention (including amendments)
