Organization
Reports to:
Chief Mechanic
Duties
• Comply with all Ensco HSE policies as outlined in Ensco's QSMS document.
• Performs Preventive and Corrective Maintenance on all Topside Mechanical equipment including but not limited to:
Top Drive Systems (Including Auxilliaries and attachments)
Rotary Table equipment
Draw works (Including Auxiliary equipments)
Derrick (Crown Block, Fingerboards, Travelling block, personnel elevator, etc.)
Pipe handling Systems
Tubular delivery systems (Catwalk machine, pipe-deck crane)
Make-up system (Iron Roughneck, Hydraulic Catheads & Bucking Machine)
Mud Pumps (Including auxiliaries)
Hydraulic Power Units (Drilling Supply)
Mud processing equipment (Shakers, Degassers, agitators, etc.)
All Drilling process Pumps and auxiliaries
Deck winches and Man riding winches
• Coordinate all maintenance with other departments to ensure minimum impact on operations involving critical equipment.
• Troubleshoots drilling tools and systems including complex hydraulic systems and facilitates repairs down to the lowest replaceable unit.
• Documents equipment historical data for the purpose of reliability analysis and planning necessary upgrades.
• Provides handover to oncoming Mechanic to ensure a seamless transition of work during tour changes and works over at the request of the Chief Mechanic when necessary
• Performs periodic inventory of spare parts for systems in his area of responsibility to ensure minimal downtime and advises the Chief Mechanic of low stock levels
• Makes Mechanic department weekly maintenance system entries to document work done including Preventive and corrective actions.
• Performs Mechanic department daily checks filling out the checklist for submission to the Chief Mechanic.
• Participates in weekly Stop tour with all Mechanical Department Personnel selecting a different area each week
• Maintains order, cleanliness and housekeeping in his areas of responsibility.
• Keep written hand-over notes to ensure efficient and accurate transfer of information.
• Attend Company training as outlined in the Training Matrix for Deep Water GOM
Qualifications
• High School Diploma
• Minimum 2 years on a Drilling Vessel working in the Mechanic Department
• Complete Competency requirements IAW Ensco Competence Management Manual Ensco-04-01 Section 2.6.3
