Organization
Duties
• Comply with all Ensco HSE policies as outlined in Ensco's QSMS document.
• Responsible for Preventive and Corrective Maintenance on all Shipboard Electrical Equipment to include but not limited to:
Main and Emergency Generators
Distribution (High and Low Voltage)
Variable Frequency Drives (Propulsion and Drilling)
Electric Motors (All motors including Propulsion Drive Motors)
HVAC Systems (Electrical Part)
General Lighting Systems
Galley and Laundry Systems
• Coordinate all maintenance with other departments to ensure minimum impact on operations involving critical equipment.
• Manages troubleshooting efforts of complex electrical systems and facilitates repairs down to the lowest replaceable unit.
• Documents equipment historical data for the purpose of reliability analysis and planning necessary upgrades.
• Initiates a MAF request when necessary to improve equipment reliability, operations efficiency or safety concerns
• Maintains adequate spare parts for systems in his area of responsibility to ensure minimal downtime and performs periodic inventory of same.
• Operates, maintains and keeps calibration certificates current for all electrical test equipment.
• Reviews power one line diagrams to determine proper isolation of equipment for maintenance purposes and Lock-out tag-out program.
• Responsible for maintaining integrity of EX installations in hazardous locations and conducting periodic inspections of same.
• Review electrical department weekly maintenance system entries for completeness and accuracy.
• Reviews Electrical department daily checklist for follow-up actions to any noted discrepancies.
• Maintain all shipboard portable electrical tools and equipment keeping a log of inventory, color coding and equipment status.
• Supervises the order, cleanliness and housekeeping in his areas of responsibility.
• Holds weekly Stop tour with all Electrical Department Personnel selecting a different area each week.
• Keep written hand-over notes to ensure efficient and accurate transfer of information
• Attend Company training as outlined in the Training Matrix for Deep Water GOM.
Qualifications
• High School Diploma
• Strong troubleshooting skills and personnel management skills are required
• Minimum 5 years on a Drilling vessel with at least 2 years as Senior Electrician
• Complete Competency requirements IAW Ensco Competence Management Manual Ensco-04-01 Section 2.6.4
