HSE Support

Desired Experience

    1. At least 10 years working experience in the EP industry with prior HSE experience.
    2. Technical (including HS&E) and operations assignments in one or more of Shell's operating companies or businesses.
    3. Experience as an HSE Lead.
    4. Experience in lifting and hoisting safety.  
    5. Prior experience in Hazard assessment/Risk assessment processes.
    6. Applying HS&E statutes and regulations and company HS&E standards.
    7. Supervisory assignment desired but not required.
    8. Offshore work experience is required.
    9. Construction (offshore or onshore) experience required.

            Additional comments Other Capabilities
            a. Flexible travel and work schedule.
            b. Climb and wear protective clothing and equipment on site environments.


Roles/Responsibilities

To provide Commissioning HSE support at either One Shell Square in New Orleans, La or Shell Woodcreek office in Houston.
To work together with the safety lead on assigned projects for HSE improvement needs for items such as Developing HSE work plans and bridging documents, safety training, Permit to Work processes, JSA processes, risk/hazard assessment, accident investigation and onsite inspection.      

Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts through March 2013.  

Position description - Accountabilities  
        
    The incumbent will functionally report to the Construction Safety Manager - Upstream Major Projects and will be part of the Construction Safety Support Team, daily report to the Site HSE Lead.  
    The work scope will cover the planning and execution of Health, Safety and Environmental support programs/processes for Projects within EPT, responsibilities include but are not limited to:

            - Assist on HSE work plan development
            - Provide onsite safety training for items including but not limited to Site orientation, Energy Isolation, Lifting and Hoisting, Confined Space Entry, Hazard Communication, Environmental procedures and Spill Control, Hot Work Procedures, Working at Heights/Scaffolding.- Participate and provide guidance on the Permit to Work process.


QA/QC of the JSA process.

          - Provide onsite coaching, consulting, inspection of the construction work.
          -Assist the construction team on assigned projects with HSE records and statistics.
          -Participate in evaluation of HSE performance of contractors and Shell Site Team and recommend improvement alternatives where necessary.

Experience and Qualifications required  

    1. Excellent planner and organizer.
    2. Effective oral and written communicator with all levels in the organization.
    3. Independent, objective and decisive.
    4. Understands management systems and processes.
    5. Determine root cause(s) of problems.
    6. Effectively lead and/or participate in diverse teams.
    7. Discern the applicability of HS&E laws and regulations and Shell policies and standards to any activity or situation.
    8. Coaching experience working directly with offshore platform topsides commissioning teams both in the planning stage as well as the commissioning/offshore stage.  
    9. Must be able to write and review HSE documents for the commissioning activities, HSE plans.  
    10. Experience in HAZID and contractor/subcontractor HSE requirement deliverable reviews.
    11. Independent use personal computing applications, e.g. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet Explorer.
    12. Demonstrate past experience in developing HSE plans and Bridging documents for offshore projects.
