We are actively seeking a Lease Records Analyst to be based in Denver Corporate Office.

The Lease Records Analyst is Responsible for analysis of leases, contracts, title opinions and other legal documentation to determine company ownership and obligations in leases, contracts and wells. Requires strong analytical skills with a background in analysis of record title ownership of producing and non-producing properties. Must be able to independently resolve, comprehend, train and communicate to Supervisor, Lead, and other team members on complex title and issues. Must have knowledge of monthly lease and contract obligations to ensure timely and accurate payments of rentals, shut-in payments and minimum royalties due. Must be proficient with PC applications and Lease Records software. Must be able to work independently and assist with training of less skilled members of the team. As a member of the Lease Records Department, he or she should support the team, department and company goals per policies and procedures, as well as able to perform the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ROUTINE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analysis of various forms, including complex title, lease and contract documentation to summarize company ownership and obligations.
  • Review leases, understand and determine shut-in, minimum royalty, and pugh clauses
  • Setting up new leases and contracts in Excalibur Land system, and run reports for proofing and verification of input data
  • Sorting and organizing files from acquisitions
  • Make ownership changes and clean-up of lease records, along with general lease records maintenance in land system
  • Proof from proofing reports data entered into Excalibur Land System by other analysts
  • Prepares some correspondence - cover letters, inquiries, requests, etc.
  • Perform special projects as assigned to support Lease Records Department and company goals

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.   • Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalent is required with a minimum of two years as lease records analyst, title analyst, division order analyst, or a combination of those experiences in oil and gas industry. College degree with less experience will be considered.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as contracts and correspondence. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with team members and supervisor.
  • Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word and Excel, with ability to set up spreadsheets with Excel. Previous use of oil and gas land system is desirable.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
