Prestigious International Operator seeking Mechanical Engineering personnel for their major Project based in WA/NT Australia.
* Applicants must be degree qualified
* Relocation status, Australia based
* 12 month renewable contract
PROJECT MECHANICAL ENGINEER
Reporting into the Lead Mechanical Engineer your responsibilities will include though not limited to: -
* Coordinate and supply all relevant information to the mechanical team in order to complete fitness for service assessment as well as the detailed design of appropriate repair techniques including but not limited to mechanical sleeves, mechanical clamps, and composite wraps.
* Ensure engineering package drawings contain enough information to proceed with implementation.
* Review external consultants, subcontractors and equipment supplier's design drawings, design standards and equipment specifications for compliance with Company standard, constructability and conformance.
* Organize offshore site surveys using external resources.
Essential Skills/Experience required:
* Bachelor of Mechanical engineering degree or 10 years experience in mechanical engineering within the Oil & Gas sector (preferably for a Client/ Owner Operator)
* Demonstrated HSE performance.
* Good understanding of pipe site survey (pipe spool measurement) and experience in pipework installation
* Be willing to go offshore as and when required.
* Familiarity with welding techniques and preparation of weld specification procedures.
* Knowledge through direct experience of mechanical equipment found in oil and gas processing facilities including pressure vessels, valves.
* Fully familiar with regulations and use of standards (ASME, API. NACE, AS etc).
* Experience with "Brown field" modifications including in service welding.
